PARK and RIDE

The Park & Ride Scheme was granted Planning Approval
at the Planning Committee Meeting
on 25th March

Two Parish Councillors spoke in opposition to the scheme at the Planning Committee

The funding for the scheme will come from Central Government
but it is only at 'progamme entry' stage at the moment
so the funding has not actually been awarded

There is still a possibility that the funding will not be forthcoming
but, subject to funding being released, there will be a Park & Ride at Poppleton by 2012

Update 14th March 2011

This scheme was one of many which were up for review following the election of the
coalition government in May 2010.
The proposers of all the schemes under review were required to put forward a case
for funding to be granted and City of York Council made a submission for this scheme
as part of the larger Access York scheme.
At this time, no further decisions have been taken on which schemes should
retain their funding.
