The History Society with the Archaeology Group possesses a host of records, artifacts, and transcripts gathered over many years. These are stored in members’ homes and in other locations with little possibility of proper maintenance or public display. The Society is in great need of a location where its precious and irreplaceable items may be safely stored and available for all to view and conduct research.
In February 2006, the Society Committee set in motion a project to develop the Poppleton Library in concert with the CYC who own the site. This is an ongoing project that will take time and money to bring to fruition
