Social Event
The main event in the year (2011) - the Regency Dinner ,scheduled for 7 October. It was held at the Tithe Barn. The meal followed traditional fare of the period with potted prawns, beef and syllabub dessert. Entertainment was provided by a quartet playing traditional instruments (harpsichord, flute and cello) with a soprano adding the lyrics. Soldiers of the Durham Light Infantry demonstrated the uniforms and weapons of the Napoleonic times. A truly memorable evening to celebrate the period of the Regency at the beginning of the 19 th Century
