The year started well with the village Green in beautiful condition being cut well and kept tidy. New pin curbs were built round the pump making it more attractive.
I would like to thank Gordon Benton for continuing to look after the War Memorial garden where the Memorial is looking fresh after being cleaned by Ken Falkingham.
A Neighbourhood Watch open meeting was held in the church hall in October and was a success thanks to the work of Councillor Thompson.
Community policing in the village by Mayfair Guarding Group has been a success with less vandalism and an apparent drop in crime.
A joint meeting with Nether Poppleton Parish Councillors was very useful. It was suggested that joint meetings should be held more often.
I would like to thank my vice-chairman, Mrs Watters, for all the help and backing she has given me. I would not have been able to do my job without her.
I would like to thank all other councillors for the hard work they have put in through the year.
