1st York Poppleton Scout Group Newsletter

May 23rd 2007

*********  URGENT  **********

We have just found out that Mark will be leaving in December, this will leave only 1 warranted leader from January & it will not be possible to run scouts after that date without more leaders.

Please consider volunteering to become a leader on a part or full time basis, it is a very rewarding job & provides an opportunity to share in many activities & provide great experiences for the children. No qualifications are required - just your time & enthusiasm. Training will be given.

 *********  URGENT  **********

Sports Day in Poppleton *****THIS MONDAY*****
The Scouts will be running their traditional Hot Dog Stall & are looking for helpers (scouts &/or their parents) to set up from 10am, run the stall 1-5pm & clear away after 5pm. There will also be a centenary display of scouting. Please Geoff Chapman know if you can help on 795523 or turn up on the day.

AGM - Friday 22 June 6:30 - 8:30
Please see attached invite to this event. The Group cannot run without volunteers & we urge all parents to attend to contribute towards the running of Scouts. We have cancelled our planned trip to Scarcroft to enable us to all be present on the night, when there will be badge presentations & investitures. There will be a family BBQ afterwards, Scouts attending without parents for games that night will need to pay £3 for the BBQ.

St Georges Day - Sunday 22 April

This just involves providing bed & food as they are busy during the day on Saturday & leave early on Sunday. It also provides reduced rates for their concert & celidh on the Saturday & an opportunity to meet new people. Please contact Ann or David if you are able to help.
