Membership and joining in badges The Membership Badge is given to a beaver when they have settled into the group during there "investiture". Two joining in badges are available to Beavers, one year and two years. The first is given 12 months after investiture and the second approximately 12 months after that. Challenge badges Challenge badges are awarded for whole colony activities. they are given when a beaver takes part in an activity that is part of the normal evenings and do not require extra work. The outdoor, friendship and discovery challenges are available to beaver scouts. Activity Badges There are 5 activity badges available to beavers, these are animal friend, creative, experiment, explore and faith. They are optional and provide beavers with a reward for taking part in an activity over a long time. There are also 5 staged activity badges available to all the sections of scouting. these are split into 5 levels each and the individual can choose which one they want to try. The stages activity badges are information technology, musician, nights away and swimming.
